Basic purpose:

The job holder will be in charge of APM (Application Performance Management) activities across company's global applications, with primary focus on ERP platform. Through network of performance contacts in SAP teams, and with support of relevant technical teams, job holder should ensure that global application’s performance service level targets are achieved, regular performance monitoring is in place, and performance management and improvement activities are being executed to keep applications performance stable, or improving.

Nature and scope

  • Scope of the role may include all supported applications, however, key focus will be on ERP platform (SAP). Job holder has to have IT background, to be able to understand on a high level architecture of ERP platform, from end user front end to backend servers. Also understanding of key SAP concepts in performance management & improvement are will be required to perform the role successfully.
  • However, the nature of the job does not require a deep technical expertise, key responsibility will be to coordinate and manage network of performance contacts in teams, offshore development contractor (or few), and contacts from relevant infrastructure teams, like SAP Basis support, Network Expert Centre, etc..

Dimensions

  • Team size: 1 offshore contractor, functionally reporting to job holder; network of  up to 10-15 key performance contacts in functional/technical teams who may deliver actions in performance area
  • Budget: no budget management
 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Performance KPI reporting (request information, run reports, update, etc.)
  • Run regular progress tracking/engagement audios
  • Chair critical performance incidents Post Incident Reviews, be accountable for problem resolution.
  • Change management (performance approval)
  • Capacity planning for production boxes
  • Knowledge Management (performance)
  • Manage contractor’s workload, be accountable for the work, being done by contractor (reactive and proactive performance problem management, regular review of performance statistics and early watch alert reports to spot potential performance problems)
  • Coordinate project activities in performance area (e.g. change/improve WoW in the area, implement tools for performance monitoring/control)
 

Background Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in IT or any other Technology area (Telecoms, Networks, IT management).
  • Min. 2 years in IT support, in global environment (remote communication, remote management are key skills)
  • ITIL certified
  • Fluent English
  • SAP basis background, experience of optimizing database performance is a plus
  • Key competencies: planning, managing and measuring work, remote communication, informing, motivating others
