Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Joint Venture)

Hiring will be in a new created manufacturing joint venture - POD Sapphire

GE and Rosneft, Russia’s largest oil company, are partnering on an industrial shipbuilding cluster in Far East, Bolshoi Kamen. This deal brought our strategic partnership with Rosneft to a new level by moving into joint manufacturing and expanding the program for localization of advanced oil and gas and marine engineering technologies in the Russian Federation.

GE and Rosneft develop ship-building projects of the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in Primorsk region. Partnership between the companies provides for construction of a plant for ship steerable thrusters manufacturing.

Location: Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsk region

Responsibilities:

• The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) has responsibility for the installation and validation manufacturing process to the Russian site, controlling compliance of corporate standards and business needs. In this role, the job holder will be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to the best possible safety, quality, cost and lead time; recommend approaches to meet technical and program requirements; undertake productivity/capability studies; provide technical guidance; lead and coordinate actions across the local site AME resources to ensure alignment and accelerate achievement of goals across the platform.
• Explore automation and tools, and develop the business case content in support of necessary and required investment.
• Understand and optimize process tolerances to meet the needs of advancing technologies.
• Champion lean activities within the sites, running workouts and leading action plans.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Contribute to design engineering to ensure manufacturability of the product.
• Develop Job Routings including Material, Tooling and Equipment allocation to work station.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipbuilding/ heavy industry manufacturing companies
• Strong knowledge of semi knocked down assembly process
• Strong expertise manufacturing of rotating machines, motors, generators is essential
• Experience in international company and participation in a production/ product launch will be a plus
• Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management, including production operations, inventory controls, costing systems, financial reporting measures; engineering and quality experience is preferred
• Six sigma/lean practitioner expertise
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both Russian and English
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical issues
• Readiness for business trips
