The only museum in Russia of this type, registered in the Union of Museums of Russia on January 1, 2002. Has a unique collection of Soviet and foreign automotive equipment of the 20s-70s of the XX century, which includes over fifty antique cars and motorcycles of various countries and brands.

The expositions of the Museum reflect all the stages of the formation of the border of the Far East. In the hall of the museum the first border post of Turiy Rig was staged, part of the photo story is devoted to the events on Hassan, there is a hall dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

The museum exposition acquaints visitors with the history of marine biology and modern methods of studying the ocean, gives an opportunity to see the inhabitants of the Far Eastern and tropical seas, tells about the relationship of man and the sea in antiquity and in our days.

The exposition of the Museum is devoted to the formation of the merchant fleet, participation in the Second World War, international assistance to Vietnam. One of the first scientific museum of geological profile in the Far East, opened in the Far Eastern Geological Institute in 1978, is a fund of unique geological collections and comprehensive information about them.

The museum not only introduces the wonderful world of the sea, but on the example of the Far Eastern seas it reveals the relationship between the ocean and man, shows the mechanism of the impact of pollution on the marine environment, ways of fighting for the purity of the sea.
